Our Mission

Wildlands Conservation’s mission is to conserve and manage wildlands.

Our Story

We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization specializing in conservation planning and policy, land management, land protection, research, education, and outreach. We work on conservation projects throughout Florida. The organization is under the leadership of its Executive Director and the Board of Directors.

Wildlands Conservation evolved from another non-profit organization by the name of PEER, Inc. (Preserving the Environment through Ecological Research); PEER, Inc. was founded in 2003. In 2007 we expanded our focal areas and changed our name to Wildlands Conservation. As the name would suggest, throughout our history we have focused on conserving and managing natural areas. Our mechanisms for conserving lands are ever-changing and a direct function of our staff’s expertise. There are some constants, however. Research, land management, and sharing our knowledge are three focuses that have always been present.
